Getting Around Detroit

Wayne State Map

We will produce an updated map for AMC2010, but in the meantime, you can view the campus area map (PDF) marked with all important locations from last year's conference. The AMC is held in the McGregor Conference Center and Community Arts Building. Dorm housing is located in the Towers Residence Hall.

From Wayne State to the Bowling Party (6/18)

The Bowling Party is at the Garden Bowl in the Majestic Theater Center, 4120 Woodward Ave.

WALK, RIDE A BIKE, OR DRIVE: The party is one mile from Wayne State. Its a straight shot south on Woodward. [MAP]

Parking

Parking with no out-and-back privileges is $3.50/day in Structure 2, located 0.3 miles from the AMC at McGregor Conference Center. Metered street parking is available near campus; free parking is a little further away.

BOWLING PARTY: There is a guarded lot in the rear of the Garden Bowl/Majestic Theater.

In a wheelchair

All AMC venues are wheelchair accessible with the following notes: there are stairs between the McGregor Conference Center and the Community Arts Auditorium. Please ask at the registration table if you need assistance moving between McGregor and Community Arts.

Bus

Detroit Department of Transportation website.

Buses and Accessibility: The Detroit Department of Transportation says, "All of DDOT’s routes are wheelchair accessible and many of our buses have ramps with a 'kneeling' feature that lowers the front entrance of the vehicle to within inches from the ground for easy access by any customer with mobility impairments or difficulty using the front steps. Other, older buses have a wheelchair lift at the back door."
