hey everyone. well i went ahead and got a bus ticket from megabus.com from chicago to detroit and back. this is the cheapest way to get there, for those of you traveling from chicago. i also secured a space in detroit to sleep, and am still looking for places in chiacgo, but it looks like we'll be ok. i'm just a little worried about food cuz i really don't have that much money to eat out, and i will not be able to carry so much stuff on the bus, and i'm afraid to liberate too much when i'm out of town in case the Man catches up with me.

i'm really excited to attend the AMC. i think i'll learn a lot of ways we can use the media for our struggles here in the valley. especially the workshops targeting poor communties of color, as the valley is one of the poorest regions in the united states and are a largely mexican@/chican@/immigrant community.

hey everyone, i sure am excited about attending this years amc. as far as i know i'm the only "valley grrl" coming out(Rio Grande Valley, like near mexico in texas).

even with fundraising, and my humble income (i am the main childcare provider for a single mami--Hermana, Resist) getting up to Detroit is super expensive. thankfuly i found a great bus deal to chicago for 99 bux. (one way) but i still need a ride from chi-to Detroit. so if anyone is driving out, i can pitch in for gas. i will be able to get a bus/train ticket if needed but i want to save as much as i can since i don't have much in the first place. with that said, if anyone wants to give a last minute donation to this under class punk, via paypal to ikkyvicky at gmail dot com. and i'll even send you a thank you gift if you give me your addy. ^___^
