Come Early, Stay Late

Thursday June 19th-- The Detroit Summer Live Arts Media Project will host a special pre-AMC version of their bimonthly all-ages hip hop show, D-TENSION. This D-TENSION will be a national youth media showcase, featuring some of the freshest talent from Detroit, Cincinnati, Oakland, Minneapolis and MUCH MORE. If you can, you should definitely make it to Detroit in time for this show.

Sunday June 22nd-- Detroit is so much more than the campus of Wayne State University! Last year in the post-AMC survey, many of you said you wished you could have seen more of Detroit. This is your chance. On Sunday afternoon, immediately following the conference, a crew of Detroiters will be offering guided tours of Detroit. These tours will take place in small groups (a carload or two) and will each focus on a particular aspect of the city. From the city's vast urban agriculture movement, to it's history of labor, Black power and environmental justice movements, to the Motown Museum, the Diego Rivera Mural in the Detroit Institute of Arts, and much more-- you will be able to sign up for a tour with a specific focus.

More details about D-TENSION and the Detroit Tours coming soon. But keep these two things in mind, when booking travel arrangements!
