Bio:
Levy, Center for the Arts in Society Outreach Program Coordinator, graduated with a BFA from Carnegie Mellon in 2007. He has years of experience working with music education, teens, and hip-hop. As an undergraduate, he founded Carnegie Mellon’s first DJ club, the CMU Turntable Crew. Levy himself has been a hip-hop DJ since 1999. He has taught DJ classes for children and teens at the Children’s Museum and the Warhol Museum. Currently he is working on two outreach programs, the Arts Greenhouse and Take Back the Hill. The Arts Greenhouse is a free hip-hop music education program serving Pittsburgh teens through the resources of Carnegie Mellon. Thus far, this goal has been met through music technology classes, workshops on special topics relating to hip-hop, and performances that bring socially conscious artists to Pittsburgh.
